PADI Assistant Instructor

The PADI Assistant Instructor (AI) course is the next step along in the professional diver ladder.

You’ve already successfully completed the PADI Divemaster course and you’ve logged at least 60 dives. Now it’s time to move that bit nearer towards the full PADI Instructor qualification.

You want to travel the world, meet attractive members of the opposite sex (or the same sex, we live in enlightened times!) and indulge in social intercourse with them!

The PADI AI course is a prerequisite for the Instructor Development Course (IDC) and as such is essential if you want to become that God like creature known to mere mortals as a PADI Diving Instructor. (You’re impressed I can tell!))

It will teach you how to conduct classroom presentations as well as allowing you to independently evaluate a number of courses and skills. Once completed, at a pace conducive to your abilities, you can then gain experience in both the pool and classroom environments before moving onto the full PADI Instructor Course. Just like the PADI Divemaster course, this is not one to be rushed. There is no set time limit for completion other than your grasp of the knowledge. You could, after completing your Divemaster course, enroll directly onto the PADI IDC and incorporate the AI course at the same time! This is however, a more time consuming option so, please come in to see us and we can discuss the path that suits you best.

P.S. Prerequisite apparently means ‘before’ ‘a prior condition of’. Yeah I had to look it up, it’s quite close to ‘prescription’ in the dictionary!
