Reactivate

Started on March 4, 2025

The PADI Reactivate program is designed to refresh your scuba diving skills and knowledge if you’ve been inactive for a while. It’s a great way to brush up on the fundamentals and regain your confidence before getting back in the water. Think of it as a “tune-up” for your diving skills.

Here’s what the PADI Reactivate program involves:

  • Knowledge Review: You’ll review key diving concepts and safety procedures, either online or by working with a PADI Instructor. This covers essential topics like dive planning, equipment use, problem management, and safe diving practices. The review can be tailored to the areas you feel you need to refresh most.
  • Skills Review: You’ll practice essential scuba skills in confined water (like a pool) or open water, guided by a PADI Instructor. These skills typically include:
    • Buoyancy Control: Regaining your neutral buoyancy and practicing hovering
    • Mask Clearing and Removal: Practicing how to clear a flooded mask and how to remove and replace it underwater
    • Regulator Recovery and Clearing: Practicing how to recover and clear a regulator if it comes out of your mouth
    • Alternate Air Source Use: Practicing how to use an alternate air source (octopus) in an emergency
    • Emergency Ascent: Reviewing the procedures for a controlled emergency ascent

Why take the PADI Reactivate program?

  • Refresh your skills and knowledge: Ensure you’re up-to-date with current diving practices and safety procedures
  • Regain your confidence: Brush up on your skills and build your confidence before returning to diving
  • Prepare for your next dive trip: Get yourself ready for your upcoming dive vacation
  • Peace of mind: Knowing you’ve refreshed your skills will make your dives more enjoyable and safe.

Who should take the PADI Reactivate program?

  • Divers who haven’t been diving for six months or more
  • Divers who want to refresh their skills and knowledge before a dive trip
  • Divers who simply want to boost their confidence

What to expect:

The PADI Reactivate program is flexible and can be tailored to your individual needs. It’s designed to be a supportive and non-stressful experience. Your PADI Instructor will work with you to identify areas where you need a refresher and guide you through the skills review. Upon completion, you’ll receive a new PADI Reactivate recognition card, showing that you’re ready to dive again!
