If you just want to just try scuba diving without signing up for full certification, then this is the course for you!
Our normal format is as follows:
Prior to the practical day, participants are issued e-codes to complete the necessary registration forms and a small amount of e-learning. E-learning covers basic safety rules and equipment and explains what will be covered during the in-water phase.
On the day of the practical, we normally meet at the pool around 30-40 minutes prior to the in-water time. This allows for a quick recap on pre-dive safety, for us to issue kit, and for everyone to get changed.
During the in-water time, it is very much down to the participant/s what we do. We start off with breathing techniques on the surface, then take it underwater. We get participants moving around and look at underwater buoyancy and finning.
If everyone is confident with the basics, we can also teach some fundamental skills. Very simply, we don’t push the group, but we don’t hold them back from doing something, so basically go at a good, but relaxed pace. We also play lots of underwater games which goes down well with the participants. We give 55 minutes of in-water time.
On completion of the course participants are registered with our governing body PADI confirming they have experienced Scuba in a swimming pool.
This is an experience rather than a certification course. It is often a good option, for those unsure as to whether they would like to enroll on a full course. Most do the trial session and sign up, but it’s not for everyone.
We can also cater for groups – Work based Corporate Events, Scouts, Birthday Parties etc.
Young people must be aged at least 10 (if younger, see our Bubblemaker course)
