Discover Scuba Diving (DSD):

This isn’t a certification, but rather an introductory experience

You’ll learn basic scuba concepts and dive in a controlled environment, typically a pool or shallow, confined water, under the direct supervision of a PADI Instructor
Perfect for those unsure if scuba diving is for them

PADI Scuba Diver:

This is a limited certification, allowing you to dive under the direct supervision of a PADI Professional to a maximum depth of 12 meters/40 feet
It requires less time than the Open Water Diver course and is a good option for those with limited time or who plan to dive only with a guide
It is a subsection of the Open Water Diver course, and can be upgraded to Open Water Diver with further training

PADI Open Water Diver:

This is the most popular and widely recognised entry-level certification
It allows you to dive independently with a buddy to a maximum depth of 18 meters/60 feet
